In the Elan Village there is a feeling of spring in the air. The birds are arriving in dozens onto our bird feeders and the sound of their song in the morning is heaven. The sunshine brings alive the colour of the hills all around us like the pallet of an artist, and the spring flowers are raising their heads after the long winter.
The village, which looked so sad after the loss of our beautiful chestnut trees, is beginning to recover, nature is immensely forgiving!
The missing chestnut trees have opened up the space where they proudly stood, leaving a much larger area of grassland leading down to the river Elan. As the warmer weather arrives this will be a delightful recreational area for families to enjoy picnics, or just sitting on the bench seats provided while they watch the river flowing by and just dream.
We look forward to welcoming our visitors to this beautiful, peaceful place where you can enjoy, at leisure, the walks, lakes and countryside.
