Hello
Welsh Water work at Craig Goch Dam
We wrote to you previously to let you know we needed to carry out essential work on Craig Goch
Dam. We are now able to carry out the second phase of our work which will involve removing the silt
from the Craig Goch pipe and valve and we wanted to let you know what to expect.
What can you expect?
Our work is planned to start on Monday 4th April and as long as everything goes to plan, it should be
completed within a week. This type of work is weather dependant; therefore, we might need to
work during the weekend to get the job done as quickly as possible.
We will set up our welfare units using the car park at the top of the dam from Thursday 31st March.
Due to the location of our work and for the safety of the public and our workforce, we will need to
put in place certain road closures going over the dam from Monday 4th April for the duration of the
work. Restrictions of access will be as follow:
• From Monday 4th April until Friday 8th April, there will be no access for pedestrians, cyclists,
horses, and vehicles between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm
• After the 8th of April until the work is complete only vehicular access will be restricted
between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm.
We are still planning to start our main upgrading works in June 2022 and will make sure to update
you on these closer to the time.
Nearby residents may notice some noise from our work, but please be assured that we will use
mitigation measures where possible to keep disruption to a minimum. If anything changes, we’ll
make sure to let you know.
We will be working with our partners, Morgan Sindall, and their supply chain to get the work done.
They will be working Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:30pm, but there may be times
where they may need to work outside of these hours.

There are sometimes factors beyond our control that may delay or change the scope of work, but
we’ll always minimise any potential disruption where possible and make sure we keep you updated.

We would like to say thank you for bearing with us while we carry out this work, and we’ll be sure to
get everything done as quickly as we can.
Yours sincerely,
